Heresy! Which author(s) do you think have an over-inflated critical reputation? Your reasons?

Jonathan Franzen. His books are just dreadful. A painful slog through unsympathetic characters in dull situations. What the h--- Oprah saw in The Corrections is beyond me. Gave the hardback to the Goodwill as soon as I finished it . . . and I don't give books away.
