Totally agree.Fortunately my sons held back during the buying frenzy and are sitting on nice big deposits and a pick of nice gaffs at much more sensible prices.There was tremendous pressure to join the others but a mortgage is for your whole working life and should never be viewed from a short sighted perspective.Things change.
